LandCorp and Cedar Woods Properties are carefully planning a marina-based tourist precinct at Mangles Bay.
The Mangles Bay Marina-Based Tourist Precinct aims to provide the local and visiting community with a quality and innovative development providing marine, tourist, recreational, commercial and residential components, while respecting and repairing the coastal environment.
The project is currently undergoing environmental assessment and will not proceed without environmental approval.
Over the next two decades the City of Rockingham’s population is predicted to double to more than 164,000 people by the year 2031. Recreational boat ownership in metropolitan Perth is also expected to nearly double within a similar timeframe. The current infrastructure will be insufficient to meet the demands of this growth.
With Rockingham identified in the State Government’s Directions 2031 planning framework as a Strategic Metropolitan Centre, the project will provide a much needed lift for the area, generating significant local employment and investment opportunities.
